General

I can use search engines or bookmarks. Why should I use hooeey webprint?

hooeey webprint is built for today's information consumer who expects search results to be available and easily recallable.

Being able to find information you had seen earlier- without spending time searching for it all over again, is the premise of building a browsing library. Search is great for finding new information, not for relocating a web page you had seen earlier.

Tools based on bookmarking were built for a time where the 'one-person-one computer-one browser' paradigm was valid.

Tools based on bookmarking are insufficient since they require the users to do all the work - remembering to save a link, tag it, export it across browsers and so on. Even when a user does all this diligently, he or she can find that a bookmarked link has changed content or worse that it is not working. The same applies to a browser's history list.

Now, it is common to find people using a home computer, an office computer, a laptop on the road and maybe a mobile phone to get on to the Web. It is also common to see people using different browsers.

There is also the emergence of Cloud Storage and Cloud Computing where the user's data and application resides "on" the Internet and can be accessed anywhere/anytime.

hooeey webprint is designed to work the way you do - matching your pace step-to-step, and providing you with your information on-the-go.

Why would I want to have a browsing library?

The Internet is growing to be a primary source of information for personal and business research purposes. There is a never before dependency on the Web for information and users find themselves returning several times during a working day to source the Web for information.

Thanks to advanced search engines, finding information on the Net is easy, but organizing and retrieving this information is a real challenge as experienced by most of us.

If the information that you browsed on the web was saved and organized just as books are in a library, it would make your life easier. It is not hard to imagine a scenario where you may need to get back to a web page you saw a month ago that had information on a great shopping deal or a business opportunity - but you forgot where you saw it. A browsing library could instantaneously find the information without having to repeat your search all over again.

A browsing library is your storehouse of web pages which you believe you would want to revisit in the future.

We'll help you build your browsing library with as little effort as possible.
Why do I need hooeey webprint?

  1. the link of the web page browsed
  2. the HTML-text associated with the browsed web page
  3. a high-resolution snapshot of the browsed web page

From our preliminary testing and benchmarking, we found that each browsed page takes up between 100KB to 800KB of hard disk space, depending on how graphic-intensive and lengthy it is. As a thumb rule, you'll use about 1 GB of storage on your C: drive for every 1,250 web pages that you browse.

The exact space being used is shown on your hooeey webprint screen when it starts. You can also see it by clicking the 'Information' button in 'Settings'.

How do I know how much space I have used/ am using?
On the right hand top corner of your hooeey webprint page is a link called 'Current Usage'. Clicking on that link will tell you (a) how many pages you have in the library, (b) total size of the pages and (c) the start date from when pages have been stored.
On the left side frame of my hooeey webprint homepage, I see a link called 'Tags' with two sub links called 'All Tags' and 'User Tags'. What exactly are this and what is their purpose?

The Tags link is your shortcut to recall saved pages. It is in fact the easiest and simplest way to recall pages. What hooeey webprint does is it organizes meta-tags within the webpages into a tag cloud

You can, however, create custom tags for easy recall. All that you have to do is click on a particular thumbnail view of the page to enlarge it and then at the bottom right hand corner of the page you will see the link call 'Tag'.

Click on it and add your preferred key words which correlate to the page. These tags are your own and you can use any word to tag any page. Later when you want to recall the page, click on 'User Tags' and click on the keyword you used for saving a page and the page will appear.

The chart looks good! But is it really useful and necessary?

As a regular user of the Internet, you know that you spend a lot of time on the Internet. The chart's purpose is to actually analyze your online habits and give this information to you. The charts purpose is enhanced considerably when we are looking at research functions within enterprises. Using hooeey webprint Office researchers can track, monitor, measure and even use these analytics to build their research reports.

How do I shift from 'thumbnail' to full screen view of a saved page?
Just click the mouse button once on the image and it will immediately enlarge into a full screen view. By clicking on the 'back to thumbnail view' button at the left hand corner, you can go back to the thumbnail view.

If this does not work, it is likely that you may have 'disabled' recording. Please check to see if recording has been enabled.

If recording has been enabled, there is a chance that you did not spend enough time on a page. hooeey webprint requires that you wait for the webpage to load completely.

If you don't like this, you can turn off full page capture (turns off auto-scrolling) by going to Settings–>Capture screen capture size–>Select Viewport capture option
Where can I see exported CSV file in Widows Vista and Windows 7 ?

Due to Widows Vista and Windows 7 default settings the exported CSV file will be saved to the following Windows default path C:\Users\<username>\AppData\LocalLow\hwpIE\Localdata.csv

(Note:By default, Windows Vista and Windows 7 normally hide AppData folder. Please copy and paste the full CSV file path in your Explorer address bar to locate your CSV file)

Why does IE not record on browser refresh ?
In Internet Explorer, browsers web pages are captured on-load only. Changed content on refresh is not captured due to browser limitations. To capture changed web content please reload the page rather than refresh the page.
When I click on 'HTML View', the page takes over the hooeey webprint/Plus frame.
Some web pages are scripted not to open in iframes, hence they open a new browser window. It is not a bug. Simply go back the hooeey webprint/Plus window and use the 'Image View' to view normally.
